Pre-"Weird Sisters," CQ [Jan. 12th, 2008|08:30 pm]
The Weird Sisters got their name in August 1991, a year and a bit after Kirley and Donnie finished school. Kirl, Donnie, Waggy and Meaghan lived together for that year in some big house somewhere, mostly paid for with Meaghan and Kirley's money. Especially Meaghan's, since she actually had a job and Kirl was still begging for help from Mum.

They had many horrible names, including:

Kirley Duke and the Kirlettes (swiftly followed by)
Myron Wagtail and the Waggies (didn't last long, because he doesn't like admitting his name is "Myron" to girls)
Donnie Tremlett and a Really Stiff Drink
NEEZLE (all-caps)
Bitchin' Witchin'
Spellz
Inferi Elbows
Caitlyn's Roses (it was "Meaghan's Roses" for about half a second, but Meaghan threw an old bludger at Waggy for suggesting it)

"Well, that's one way to put it."

"Really?" He crossed his arms and looked his wife straight in the eye, a twinkle appearing for just a moment. "What's the other way, then?"

"Other way?" his wife retorted back, "You think there's just one? Hmm, let's try 'illogical' or 'nonsensical' or even 'bullheaded.' Hell, Donaghan, he wasn't even YOUR best man."

"I know that," he snapped, not at all unlike Merton. He leaned over the counter and sighed, then looked back at Emily. "It'd be FINE if it were Malcom even Kirl, but... his best man's not even a MAN. Just...." he shook his head slightly, "ahhh, I don't know."

"Listen," Emily whispered, wrapping her arms around his waist and brushing his dreads over his shoulder, "you know that if Kirley ever got married, you'd be his best man in a heartbeat. Connolly too, and I haven't even fully given up hope on him yet."

Sigh. "I know. I'm being irrational."
